Streetkatz

Rescue

                                           Aims & Objectives

Sadly, there are an increasing number of homeless and abandoned cats and kittens in West Kent and East Sussex.

Typically, these animals are having to fend for themselves on the
streets, vulnerable to cruelty, starvation and untimely deaths.
STREETKATZ aims to give all homeless and abandoned cats and kittens a chance of survival and a brighter future.  As a small, independent group, we can often move more quickly to rescue a family or single adult cat from a life of struggle on the streets.

Objectives:

To facilitate the rehabilitation and rehoming of homeless        and abandoned cats and kittens in West Kent and East Sussex.

To promote the neutering of all cats when old enough and to educate the public of its benefits.

To promote universal microchipping and scanning of all cats.

To raise awareness of the responsibilities that come with cat ownership under the Animal Welfare Act 2006.  These include the need of the cat for suitable accommodation and the right to be protected from pain, suffering, injury and disease.  This applies equally to both domestic and feral cats. To trap, neuter and return to site all adult feral cats and to socialise and rehome very young feral kittens.

To foster links with other rescue groups and to encourage
co-operation at all levels.

To provide a sanctuary for older cats in the future.
